Plan For Success
Arrive on time to make the most of your session. Please have your clothing grouped together by outfit and on hangers. Bring multiple outfits (formal and casual) that express who you are. Get a good night's sleep
Clothing Colors
Try to avoid stripes and plaid. Solid colors photograph much better. Be sure to vary your clothing color choices. This will ensure that you will be able to be photographed on a variety of backgrounds.
Hair
Avoid changing your hairstyle or cutting your hair right before your session. Haircuts should be made at least a week before your appointment. Highlights should be touched up approximately one to two weeks before your session. Quick easy hairstyle changes during your session are okay, but make it quick or you loose camera time.
Make-up suggestions
If you need to put on make-up or style your hair at the studio you will need to arrive early enough to be ready at your start time. Apply concealer and powder if necessary to minimize blemishes. Portrait retouching on your final order can eliminate small blemishes and under-eye circles.
Complexion
All of your finished portraits will be retouched so don't worry about pre-session breakouts or nerves.
Weather for outdoor portraits
If it rains on the day of your session, we can reschedule the outdoor portion of the session or trade for digital effects on photos.
Tanning
DO NOT overdo the tanning bed or sun. Limit sun exposure prior to your portrait session avoiding burns or tan lines. At least a 3 day rest from tanning before your session is advised.
Don't forget your props
Props help to define who you are. Consider bringing letter jackets, uniforms, sports equipment, and musical instruments to express your interests, making your portraits personal.
Accessories
Don't Forget to accessorize! Hats, scarves, boots and coats make a nice addition to outfits and can help to create variety in your previews.
